CHOCOLATE DIPPED ITALIAN BUTTER COOKIES!ย ๐คคEnough said, let get in!
I repeat, Italian butter cookies, filled and dipped in chocolate!๐ It does not get much better than that.
This recipe is so simple, just 10 ingredients, and one bowl!
Start off by creaming the butter and powdered sugar in a bowl. Add the egg and vanilla, throw in the flour and you’re done.ย ๐
Pipe these out on a tray lined with parchment, and bake them off! For the filling, I melted chocolate and added some condensed milk until I reached a smooth consistency. Then I filled them, dipped them, and done!
These Chocolate Butter Cookies are SO good! They are, perfectly sweet, chocolatey, rich, buttery, and so delicious!
You can store these for quite a long time, but they probably won’t last that long! You can make them in advance, and take to a party, barbecue, or get-together. The possibilities are endless with these cookies, so get baking!

- 225g butter, softened
- 100g sugar
- 47g icing sugar
- 2 eggs+1 egg yolk
- 1½ tsp vanilla
- 350g flour
- ¼ tsp salt
- ½ tsp baking powder
- 300g semi-sweet chocolate
- ½ can condensed milk
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line two baking sheets with parchment or non-stick mats.
- Add butter and sugars to the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with a paddle attachment and beat until smooth, creamy and fluffy, about 3 minutes.
- Add the egg and vanilla and beat until combined.
- In a mixing bowl, whisk the flour, salt, and baking powder together and add to the butter mixture. Mix together until just combined.
- Scoop dough into a large piping bag fitted with a large star tip.
- Pipe strips of dough out onto prepared sheets. To make them as pictured, tilt the tip down while piping it out and slowly bring it to a 45 degree angle as you pipe,so that the tip of the cookie is slightly curled under.
- Bake cookies for 10-12 minutes or until the edges just look golden.
- Cool on a wire rack.
- Melt the chocolate with a teaspoon of butter. Take half of the melted chocolate, while still hot and add the condensed milk slowly. It will be really thick, add condensed milk until the texture of buttercream.
- Spread the chocolate on to the cookies and sandwich them.
- Dip the cookies in the other half of the melted chocolate and chill until firm.
